Furthermore, it is its nature that as soon as it is captured and put in a cage, it uses its beak to draw water from a vessel suspended by a thread which it holds for hours by its foot while it is drinking. It is a miracle of nature that it should have imparted so much skill to a little bird, a degree of intelligence unsurpassed by cattle or donkey or any large animal.
